CWA To Honor Celeste Settrini For Leadership

Salinas, CA – Jan 4 2010 – On Jan 9, 2010, Celeste Settrini will be honored at the CWAs Annual Convention to be held this year at Casa Marias at Old San Juan Mission, San Juan Bautista, CA, and therein officially installed as the State President of California Women for Agriculture. Over the years, Settrini has been honored with several very distinguished awards including the Salinas Jaycees Young Farmer of the Year, The California Jaycees Young Farmer of the Year, California Women for Agriculture State Shining Star, has received the award of excellence from the CDCs Produce for Better Health Foundation and was most recently honored as 2008 Tri County (Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito) Ag Woman of the Year.

While active in California Women for Agriculture, she has served as Adopt a Legislator Director, Central Coast District Director, and 1st Vice President. Not only is Settrini an active participant in Salinas Valley California Women for Agriculture, she is also a member of Monterey County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, Vice President of the Central Coast Ag Task Force, Past Chairman of the American AgriWomen Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Commodities Advisory Committee, served on California Department of Food and Agriculture Secretary Bill Lyons Agricultural Advisory Panel. She is a member of the American National and California Cattlewomen and is an avid supporter of the I Love Farmers, They Feed My Soul campaign. Further, Settrini is a recent graduate of the National Cattlemens Association Masters in Beef Advocacy program.

Settrini is a graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Agribusiness Marketing and a fourth generation living on the family farm in Salinas, California. She is a partner in Settrini Ranch, LLC- a commercial cow/calf operation and works in sales and marketing with Fresh Network, a full service produce procurement commodity broker in Salinas.
