Frieda’s Specialty Produce Invites The Entire Produce Industry To ‘Love Your Produce Manager’

LOS ALAMITOS, CA  – Frieda’s Specialty Produce invites all produce companies and grocery retailers to share their appreciation for Produce Managers and spread the word about the third annual April 2nd National Love Your Produce Manager® Day. Frieda’s conceived of Love Your Produce Manager® Day in 2012 in recognition of the critical role Produce Managers make in increasing produce consumption. After all, they are the “first line” with consumers.

Love Your Produce Manager® is only one part of the Frieda’s mission: to change the way America eats fruits and vegetables.

“We want to invite all produce companies, growers, and grocery retailers to join our effort to recognize produce managers,” said Karen Caplan, president and CEO of Frieda’s. “This year, we’ve decided to provide an extra incentive. We hope hundreds or thousands of our friends in the industry will post the Love Your Produce Manager® logo and use #LYPM on their company websites, Facebook pages, and on Twitter and Instagram. We plan to make a donation to the ‘Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools’ campaign for every single post made during the first week of April (April 1st through 7th).”

Love Your Produce Manager® Day messages must be posted by 11:59 p.m. on April 7th.

As featured in Chase’s Calendar of Events, Love Your Produce Manager® Day is “honoring the exemplary customer service in U.S. supermarket produce departments.”

“Produce Managers are the unsung heroes of the healthy eating revolution, quietly playing a key role in increasing the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables by U.S. consumers,” added Caplan. “They are more important than ever as people are looking to add more fruits and vegetables to their lifestyle. And we want to salute them the best way we can.”
