Innovation, Growth & Productivity To Highlight 20th PMA Foundation For Industry Talent Leadership Symposium

NEWARK, Del. — Business leaders across the produce industry are continually looking to enhance their business strategies, challenge themselves with innovative solutions for growth and productivity and network with peers. To accomplish this they seek a world-class forum that understands the unique nature of its complex global supply chain.

Addressing this need is the 2012 Produce Marketing Association’s (PMA) Foundation for Industry Talent (Foundation) Leadership Symposium, on Jan. 18-20 in Dallas, Texas, USA at Omni Dallas Park West. The annual Foundation event conducted in partnership with Cornell University provides a retreat-like setting for enhanced interaction and learning to drive success for attending executives’ organizations.

“The Leadership Symposium provides a valuable learning environment coupled with a terrific networking opportunity,” said Howard Nager, vice president of marketing, Domex Superfresh Growers. “Attending this event gives participants access to a community of executives across the produce supply chain and helps to assist in developing strategies for business success.”

Highlighting the program are four savvy and respected speakers to address common broad-based business concerns and challenge participants to renew their overall business thinking and strategic direction. They include:

  • Todd Buchholz; an authority on business, economics and geopolitics to provoke thought and discussion on global competition;
  • Clyde Fessler, formerly with Harley-Davidson, speaking on how organizations can implement strategic marketing in a challenging economy;
  • Seth Mattison of BridgeWorks, LLC, who will challenge industry leaders to look closely at leading and managing the generational differences that are more prevalent than ever across industries, and;
  • George Metanias, CEO of GLS Worldwide, who will provide tools and insights that will assist participants in enhancing their own leadership styles.

“As a retail buyer of produce, understanding the perspectives of my colleagues and leaders from across the industry will influence our strategic decision-making and address challenges that ultimately will help understand consumer needs and meet demands,” said Greg Corrigan, senior director, produce and floral at Raley’s. “I look forward to this year’s event and the solutions I can bring back to my team that enhance our growth and solidify crucial relationships.”

To maintain the intimate, collegial environment for PMA’s highest-rated global leadership education event, registration for the 2 ½-day event is limited to 75 senior executives who represent the top three or four decision makers in a business; this common ground will ensure robust and relevant participation and thought leadership. In addition to high-level speakers, the symposium includes networking and relationship-building opportunities through small-group discussions led by practical and effective facilitators, dinners and receptions. Visit the 2012 PMA Foundation for Industry Talent Leadership Symposium website for more information and apply by Dec. 30, 2011 for your opportunity to attend.
