M. Levin and Company, Inc. to Donate Fresh Produce to Government Employees Affected by the Shutdown

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania –M. Levin and Company, Inc., a full-line wholesale produce distributor in Philadelphia has been touched by the community’s outpouring of generosity towards the government employees who have lost their pay due to the shutdown – will be donating fresh fruits and vegetables to those affected.

The government has been shut down for over 35 days and the government employees have gone without pay for weeks.  Many of these employees can no longer afford to put food on the table for their families.  Beginning Monday, January 28th M. Levin invites all affected government employees to come down to see them at the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market (located adjacent to the Airport Automall in Southwest Philadelphia – 6700 Essington Avenue Units H2-H7 Philadelphia, PA 19153).  M. Levin will donate fresh produce to any employee of the government who brings in his or her government work ID.  M. Levin asks them to bring in their own tote bag and they can fill it up with their choice of fresh items!  M. Levin plans to begin this on Monday, January 28th through Friday, February 1st between the hours of 8-11 AM.

M. Levin and Company, Inc., is currently in its 113th year of business and is being run by members of the third and fourth generation of family members.  M. Levin is one of the oldest wholesale produce distributors in the area.  The Company is best known for its ripening and distribution of Bananas up and down the East Coast, moving more than 30,000 cases a week.  M. Levin is also well known for their extensive offering of tropical and ethnic items, along with a full-line of fresh fruits and vegetables.  M.
