Mission Produce Promotes Brent Scattini To VP Of Sales & Marketing

Oxnard-based Mission Produce today announced that the company has promoted Brent Scattini to Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Scattini was initially hired in late 2016 as the company’s Vice President of Sales for North America. In his expanded role, Scattini will oversee Mission’s global sales and marketing efforts as the company continues to grow its global footprint.

Prior to joining Mission, Scattini most recently served as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Gold Coast Packing in Santa Maria, California, where he worked for the past 6 years. Prior to that he was Director of Sales for Grimmway Farms, Bakersfield, for 15 years. He is a 27-year veteran of the produce industry and comes from a 5-generation farming family in the Salinas Valley.

According to Steve Barnard, Mission’s President & CEO, Scattini will take on an important strategic role in the company as Mission continues to grow. “Brent is a strong cultural fit for us. His background in the produce industry, along with his management style, are well-suited for Mission. We have lofty global growth goals, and we feel that Brent’s approach to team-building, customer development and strategy will keep us on a rapid growth curve.”

Mission’s leadership position in avocados and the future of the business are at the forefront for Scattini. “I’ve been in the produce industry for most of my life, and all of my career. Mission is a juggernaut when it comes to the avocado category, and the company is in a solid position of strength for the future. As we continue to grow the business globally, I’m confident that my experience and outlook can help us extend our position as the category leader in avocados,” stated Scattini.

Scattini continued, “Mission has a great team in place. My goal is to continue to develop our people, programs and category expertise to further enhance our ability to service our global customer base.”

The company currently operates eight ripe distribution centers in North America, and is in the final stages of completion on additional facilities in Canada, Europe and China. According to Scattini, “Our global footprint is expanding, and my efforts will go toward developing the business in each of the end-user markets we serve in North America, South America, Europe and Asia.”

In addition to his experience in the produce industry, Scattini also serves on the Board of Directors for the United Fresh Produce Association, and is currently the co-chair of the PMA Foodservice Committee. He has also been named to the Produce Business “40 Under 40,” and to “The Packer 25” in 2016.
