Mission Produce Reveals Size Interchangeability Chart

Mission Produce, Inc., the world’s most advanced avocado network, today unveiled a practical tool that breaks down avocado yield by size and preparation. This chart, known as Size Interchangeability, is an expansion of Mission Produce’s Foodservice AvocaDOs and DON’Ts guide and part of the company’s efforts to help its foodservice partners successfully manage their avocado category.

“Because fruit sizing varies throughout the year, we created a solution on how to order and prepare avocados based on our customers’ needs,” said Foodservice Sales Manager Bryan Garibay. “By using the Size Interchangeability chart in conjunction with utilizing what the trees are producing, our customers will mitigate potential supply challenges while saving money on food cost.” Slice, dice, mash or puree an avocado, the Size Interchangeability chart allows Mission Produce’s partners to predict the yield for different avocado sizes, enabling greater flexibility based on inventory and tree production.

One of the main appeals of the chart is that it is stylishly simple; it communicates avocado measurements in a visually-pleasing way so that foodservice operators can switch fruit sizes with ease. “As avocados appear on more menus, we wanted to provide our foodservice customers with an additional tool to serve the finest avocados,” said Director of Marketing Denise Junqueiro.

The Size Interchangeability chart is now available in the form of a backroom poster as well as inside the latest version of our AvocaDOs and DON’Ts for Foodservice. All foodservice resources, including the Size Interchangeability chart, are available at our PMA Foodservice booth #616 as well as online at https://worldsfinestavocados.com/marketplace/foodservice.
