National Mango Board Releases Preliminary Crop Forecast

The National Mango Board is working with the organizations in the mango-producing countries to get projections of what will be shipped to the U.S. This document contains information from the countries currently shipping or planning to ship in the near future to the United States and does not represent the entire year. The crop forecast document will be updated as we receive new information from each country.

Ecuador: The Ecuadorian season started at the end of September and will run through the end of January 2010. According the projections, the volume for this season will be approximately 7 million boxes. During the last four seasons Ecuador has sent 57% to the West
Coast and 43% to the East Coast. Projections will be adjusted throughout the season.

Peru: The Peruvian season will start at the beginning of November and will run until the end of Mach with approximately 8 million boxes. High volume from Peru is expected in January.
During the last four seasons Peru has sent approximately 60% of the volume to the East
Coast and 40% to the West Coast. Projections will be adjusted during the season.

Shipping Point Price Information

The National Mango Board is now collecting data about the recent price history of mangos.
The information is provided by USDA-Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) Market News
and is presented in terms of average high price and average low price per box for each major
variety and size break for the week.
