Pink Lady Apples To Support LGBT Community

Pink Lady® apples has linked up with Gay Star News to sponsor its involvement in Pride events in the UK this year. Having supported Pride for the first time in 2014 Pink Lady® was keen to build on the successful partnership for 2015.

The sponsorship forms part of a significant investment by Coregeo®, the master Licensor for Pink Lady® in the UK, in an extensive new marketing campaign for the UK’s biggest fresh produce brand. Launching this month, the activity will include a new advertising campaign and integrated PR, experiential, social media and digital activity designed to communicate the unique sensory experience that Pink Lady® fans love.

Chief Marketing Officer at Coregeo®, Michelle Toft is excited about the partnership saying: “The sponsorship of Gay Star News will offer the brand unparalleled opportunities to reach the influential LGBT audience while supporting Pride and everything it stands for.”

Pink Lady® apples will be given to 10,000 people attending the four Pride events in Birmingham, London, Brighton and Manchester throughout the summer, via Gay Star News’ goody bags which Sir Ian McKellen has illustrated with a picture of Gandalf from Lord of the Rings. Pink Lady® will also gain advertising support and inclusion in Gay Star News’ website, social media and promotional material in the run up to the events.

Scott Nunn Director of Commercial and Creative at Gay Star News says: “Our pride bags are a fantastic way of giving back to the community at the four largest pride events in the UK guaranteeing that Pink Lady® apples will reach a really wide audience via Gay Star News this summer.”

Plans are also in place to extend the sponsorship with in-store stickering featuring the Pride rainbow alongside Pink Lady’s® familiar flowing heart sticker.

About Pink Lady®

A Pink Lady® apple is the first to blossom on the tree and the last to be harvested by hand.  From ‘pip to perfection’, only the very best pass the rigorous inspection tests to receive the Pink Lady® classification. This time on the tree helps Pink Lady® apples to develop their unique fizz, distinctive blush, sweet flavour and crunchy texture.

Pink Lady® apples are also packed with goodness – they are a natural source of energy and a single apple supplies a quarter of your day's vitamin C. In addition, you’ll find boron to keep your bones strong, and pectin, which helps your body digest food more efficiently. What’s more, with an average 100g Pink Lady® apple containing about 50 calories, they’re the perfect ingredient or snack for a healthy lifestyle. For more information visit www.pinkladyapples.co.uk
