Potatoes USA Partners With The Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon Series

Denver, CO – Potatoes USA has announced a year-long partnership with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series®. Kicking off this weekend in the Windy City, the partnership will begin at the Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Chicago Half Marathon on July 21-22.

The partnership – part of Potatoes USA’s 2019 consumer outreach program – enables Potatoes USA to reach athletes all year long through best-in-class event activation opportunities.

In addition to the Chicago event, the partnership gives Potatoes USA a digital presence at all U.S. Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series races as well as a physical presence at three additional events nationwide: Rock ‘n’ Roll Philadelphia Half Marathon in September, Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon & ½ Marathon in December and United Airlines Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon San Francisco in April 2019.

At each race, Potatoes USA will have multiple touchpoints with athletes and attendees over the race weekend. In the days leading up to the race, participants and their friends and family can find Potatoes USA among other performance-focused brands at the pre-race Health & Fitness Expo. There they can interact with Potatoes USA representatives, sample potato recipes specifically developed for athletic performance, learn about how potatoes fit into their training diet, and receive branded collateral and take-home items.

On race day itself, Potatoes USA’s new “What Are You Eating?” campaign will be visible with on-course signage, and racers and attendees will be able to interact with the Potatoes USA team yet again at a finish-line festival photo booth experience.

Potatoes USA is making it easy for industry members to get involved the ground in Philadelphia, San Antonio and San Francisco with their own branded presence. In development for industry use is a suite of event materials and guidelines to be unveiled and announced in the coming months. These materials will include such things as:

  • Branded event materials available for loan, such as pop-up tents, table skirts and banner flags
  • Branded goods for purchase via e-commerce store such as a range of apparel, water bottles, tote bags, ball caps and more
  • Guidelines and best practices for event activations, including sampling best practices and guidelines
  • Downloads to “What Are You Eating?” campaign graphics
  • Approved Athletic Performance messaging and sample event press releases
  • Recipes ideal for sampling and corresponding collateral

These resources can be used and accessed for any industry event —not just Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon activations —and will be available 24/7 through an on-demand online portal, which will be launched later this summer.
