San Miguel Produce Receives Golden Gate Partnership Recognition from Cal/OSHA

Oxnard, CA – San Miguel Produce, Inc. has been awarded the Golden Gate Partnership Recognition by Cal/OSHA for demonstrating a commitment to continuously improving the effectiveness of its workplace safety and health management system.

The company accepts this prestigious recognition as the only Ventura County and fresh produce manufacturing recipient currently recognized by the Golden Gate Partnership Program. “We are extremely honored to receive this award. The commitment from our employees to develop a culture of health and safety throughout our company is evident,” says Jan Berk, COO of San Miguel Produce, Inc. “It has taken many years to continuously improve the safety and health of our work environment, but over the past 6 years our measures have helped to reduce our injury rate by over 90%.”

The Golden Gate Recognition is a site-specific award that recognizes a company’s effort in implementing and maintaining an effective Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP). Its intent is to provide motivation and support to employers who proactively work with their employees and Cal/OSHA Consultation Services to uphold high standards of workplace safety.

The notification of this award comes right after San Miguel Produce’s busy Thanksgiving season and right before the winter holiday and diet season push for their dark leafy green items.
