SmartWash uses a combination of science, technology and engineering to bring Pinpoint Process Control™ to food processing wash water systems and mitigate cross contamination while helping to improve the management of food safety systems.
“When we saw the revolutionary impact of our products in the United States, it became clear the technology was essential to be shared across Europe,” said Steven Swarts, Director of Business Development. “This led us to the creation of SmartWash Solutions B.V., the headquarters for the business unit in Europe.”
From their location in Nijverdal, Netherlands, SmartWash provides the high level of service necessary to support the European fresh cut industry. By producing SmartWash products for European customers directly in the Netherlands, SmartWash has reduced lead time and transportation costs.
“SmartWash Solutions has already helped to provide billions of safe servings across the world” said Swarts, “But now we have the ability to support our customers with boots on the ground in Europe.”
SmartWash products have been tested and proven effective in both U.S. and European laboratory studies and food processing operations. These products are currently available for use in the majority of European countries.

SmartWash® was originally developed by a leading US fresh-cut food processor and uses their pilot plant to research and develop technologies on an industrial scale.
