Status Gro Hires Emily Fragoso As Director Of Business Development

SOUTH PASADENA, CA: Emily Fragoso joins Status Gro as the Director of Business Development. She is a welcome addition to Status Gro; Jin Ju Wilder’s newly founded company dedicated to developing and executing strategic plans, offering core story development, advertising and marketing, project management, team building and bid/proposal writing for companies in the produce industry. She has already established a career with diverse experience with fruits and vegetables and communication skills making her the ideal candidate for this prominent new business.

For almost four years, Fragoso was the Marketing Manager at Coast Produce Company, the lead position in marketing within the company. Holding the sole responsibility of marketing at Coast Produce, Fragoso created marketing programs like the Coast Snacking Line, Coast Organic, and Farmer’s Select and worked with existing programs such as Coast Asia and Coast Caliente. Two marketing programs that she implemented, Farmer’s Select and the Coast Snacking Line, won the 2009 Produce Business Excellence in Marketing Award.

Through special projects, she worked in teams to create new business concepts from start to finish. She project managed and helped lead the marketing and public relations efforts for a worksite delivery concept to increase consumption of fruits of vegetables. Through that process, she developed an e-commerce website with Produce Pro integration. She has also developed business to business and business to consumer marketing, public relations, media and social media campaigns/plans. In addition, Fragoso was in charge of brand management, new products, line extensions and packaging graphics.

“Working with smaller organizations has allowed me to take on responsibility of generating copy, writing articles, building relationships within the produce industry and trade media, taking on leadership roles, creating and conducting various presentations, and many other tasks,” stated Fragoso. “I have also led cross-functional teams in developing new business. This experience has given me a wealth of knowledge in creating new marketing programs for product lines as well as developing existing programs.”

Prior to that, she worked at the Fresh Produce & Floral Council, having served as Executive Vice President, one year as Vice President and five years as Membership Development Director/Event Coordinator.

She holds a position on the United Fresh Produce Association Board of Directors, and was awarded a position in United Fresh Produce Association’s 2010/2011 Leadership Program Class 16. This is a fully sponsored program by DuPont for future industry leaders. While in the program she has had the opportunity to travel and meet with CEOs/Owners of industry companies representing all segments. Fragoso also gave a co-presentation to southern California retailers, “How to Increase Sales in a Down Turn Economy” at the 2009 Fresh Produce & Floral Council Expo. In June of 2007, she was named one of Produce Business’s 40 Under Forty Leaders.

She received a B.A. in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations, and received additional training in the Student Leadership Institute while attending California State University, Fullerton. She also completed a Master’s degree in American Studies in 2006.
