Bakersfield, Calif. & Plant City, Fla. Sun World International, LLC and Santa Sweets, Inc., are partnering to help retailers meet consumer demand for a great tasting tomato. Beginning in late January, Sun World will offer supplies of Santa Sweets grape tomatoes in one-pint and one-quart sized clamshells which will be merchandised under a co-branded Santa Sweets Sun World label for both conventional and organic product.
Santa Sweets and Sun World share a commitment to providing unique, high quality produce that exceed consumer expectations, Santa Sweets Chief Operations Officer J.M. Procacci and Sun World Chief Marketing Officer David Marguleas said in a joint statement.
Santa Sweets grape tomatoes, known as the authentic grape tomatoes, are grown from the first generation (F1) seed which provides the purest variety on the market. Santa Sweets grape tomatoes have higher brix for a sweeter, more satisfying flavor. This thin skinned and firmer fruit is squirt-free and perfect for snacking. Supplies are currently harvested from Mexico.
The new offering shipping out of the Santa Sweets facility in Nogales, Ariz. will be available year-round alongside other Sun World staples such as colored peppers, citrus and South American grapes.
