To-Jo Mushrooms Supports Produce For Kids' Get Healthy Give Hope Campaign

AVONDALE, Pennsylvania  – To-Jo Mushrooms is proud to announce its support of the 12th annual Produce for Kids® Get Healthy Give Hope campaign to help raise funds for children’s organizations. To-Jo is partnering with Produce for Kids to support Giant Food Stores and its charitable organization, Our Family Foundation. In addition to a direct contribution to Produce for Kids, To-Jo will be donating funds from the sale of its 8 oz. Whole and Sliced Mushrooms from May 2 – June 14 to support the Foundation.

In-store signage, featuring Chica from Sprout® TV, will notify Giant shoppers of the participating produce companies and their products, and will include easy-to-prepare recipes featuring products such as To-Jo’s 8 oz. sliced mushrooms. In-store materials will also direct shoppers to the Produce for Kids website where more than 150 produce centered recipes and healthy tips from real parents will be featured.

Over the past 12 years Produce for Kids has raised nearly $5 Million to support local and national charities through its retail campaigns.  Produce for Kids is continuing its partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® and Sprout® TV to help encourage exercise and healthy eating habits through in-store appearances and online branding programs with a variety of Sprout characters.

To help gain awareness for the program, To-Jo will be hosting a joint #FreshGrilling Twitter party with Produce for Kids and Busy Working Mama on May 14th at 9:00 PM to promote the campaign and excite followers about healthy mushroom recipes and the summer grilling season.  By driving traffic to participating retail partners like Giant, through a social media partnership, To-Jo can raise additional funds to support the campaign.

Anthony D’Amico, To-Jo’s President added, “We are so happy to be participating in this program with Produce for Kids and Giant Landover.  Supporting the Get Healthy Give Hope campaign allows To-Jo to educate the community on healthy eating habits for children while generating revenue for Giant’s Our Family Foundation.  Cause marketing is an important part of To-Jo’s mission and we are proud to be part of this year’s program. “
