Wholesum to Launch Fair Trade Roadshow and Organic Artichokes at Organic Produce Summit

AMADO, ARIZ.— Wholesum, Fair Trade Certified growers and shippers of organic produce, prepares for the 2019 Organic Produce Summit with new and exciting features including the launch of an interactive and educational Fair Trade Roadshow and the newest addition to their vegetable offerings, organic artichokes.

With the purpose to spread awareness and educate retail associates and consumers on the importance and impact of Fair Trade, Wholesum will hit the road to visit participating retail stops. In addition to meeting the Wholesum team and learning about stories of impact at Wholesum’s farming communities, produce department managers and staff will have the opportunity to become “Fair Trade Gurus” through an exclusive online quiz. The purpose is to empower associates to speak knowledgeably about Fair Trade and influence others to make informed purchasing decisions.  Participants who take the quiz will receive a limited edition lapel pin and certificate recognizing their achievement. The roadshow will also include an in-store demo portion, where shoppers will find the Wholesum team at their Fair Trade Roadshow kiosk (see image) and sample organic, Fair Trade Certified product.

“Fair Trade changes lives. We want to spread the word through interaction, education and inspiration because together, we can make a greater impact”, says Ricardo Crisantes, Chief Commercial Officer of Wholesum. “I look forward to the launch of this roadshow where we can make authentic connections with our customers, share our stories, and teach consumers about the power of their purchase. We have created some engaging materials, and I am confident that produce managers and shoppers alike are going to walk away very inspired by what they learn on Fair Trade.”

In the spotlight at Wholesum’s booth in the Organic Produce Summit, alongside the Fair Trade Roadshow, will be organic artichokes. Launched in April, they are the newest addition to Wholesum’s Greens repertoire, which currently includes organic Brussels sprouts and organic green beans. The introduction of artichokes is part of Wholesum’s strategy to move into more high value and specialty products. Wholesum has an extensive range of organic produce including tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, bell peppers and eggplant.

“We are very excited for the addition of organic artichokes at Wholesum. We are supporting our customers who want to bring their shoppers more organic choices. The organic artichokes also give us a great opportunity to expand our operations and our reach in the organic produce industry,” says Crisantes.
