A New Grocery Store Beside A Grocery Store? Experts Say The Plan Makes Sense — And Traffic Is Key

Call it a different kind of competition.

Aldi's plan to put a new store in Menomonee Falls adjacent to a Woodman's and across the street from a Sam's Club is typical of the German grocer's strategy of locating in areas where there is heavy traffic, regardless of whether that traffic is generated by competitors, retail industry experts say. 

While building a smaller store near behemoth competitors might not seem like the brightest idea, it is working for Aldi.
