Chicago Target To Sell Produce, Baked Goods

MINNEAPOLIS — Target (NYSE:TGT) brings one-stop shopping convenience and 300 jobs to the Wilson Yard community when it opens its doors at 4466 N Broadway St. in Chicago, Ill. The new general merchandise store, which celebrates a grand opening on Sunday, July 25, 2010, will feature fresh produce, meat and bakery goods and enhancements to areas such as beauty, shoes, electronics, jewelry and home.

The Chicago Wilson Yard store offers amenities such as Starbucks®, Target CaféSM, Target PharmacySM, Target OpticalSM and Pizza Hut Express are offered. The store also carries a wide range of national brands with its own Target brands like Archer Farms™, Choxie™, Market Pantry™ and up & upTM. The Chicago Wilson Yard Target is 200,000 square feet and features a green roof and the nation’s largest spangleboard – a 16 foot by 250 foot billboard display with 200,000 tiny bullseye medallions that shimmer in the breeze from the passing El trains.

Target has been a proud member of the Chicago community since 1993, creating strong partnerships with community organizations through Target’s community giving programs. In 2009, Target reached nearly 3,000 Chicago schools through our Take Charge of Education program, which allows guests to donate one percent of Target REDcard purchases to a school of their choice. With donations from Target, more than 150 schools also took part in Target’s Field Trip Grants program, taking students into the real world to enhance their studies in math, science, art and social studies. And in November, Target will unveil the latest School Library Makeover at Brennemann Elementary School, less than one mile from the new store.
