GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Gordon Food Service announced Tuesday it will open a new small-format, city grocery store in September that will serve Heritage Hill, the Medical Mile and Northeast Grand Rapids.
Planned to go into the ground floor of the new Diamond Place project at 1003 Michigan St. NE, the store will feature in-person shopping and offer online ordering with in-store pickup service for restaurant and food service customers.
According to a press release from the company, the new Gordon Food Service location is inspired by big city neighborhood grocers who make the most of tight spaces. The store will include fresh produce, meat and seafood, as well as a deli, bakery, olive bar and gelato bar.
