InnoWare Launches Foodservice Packaging Line

ATLANTA, GA, March 4, 2010InnoWare Plastic, Inc. announces the launch of its microwavable OctaView Supreme line of hinged foodservice containers featuring a patented, tear-away lid. InnoWares first-to-market technology gives consumers the option of separating the lid from the base for easier dining. The lids can be re-secured on the base for leftovers. No other microwavable food packaging product offers this consumer-convenience combined with the operational benefits of a one-piece container.

Foodservice industry research from Technomic shows that 43% of todays carry-out and prepared-meal consumers typically re-heat food in the container instead of transferring food to a plate. InnoWare developed the OctaView Supreme line with special features that support this preference to help foodservice and grocery operators appeal to on-the-go consumers.

According to InnoWares Chairman and CEO, Nick Clementi, The tear-away lid is a convenience consumers appreciate, especially when eating hot food. Operationally, the OctaView is a hinged item with one SKU, which helps operators manage costs as they require less storage space and are easier to handle than two-piece containers. Additionally, hinged containers minimize inventory shrink due to the loss of either lids or bases.

Specific features built in to the OctaView Supremes lids provide valuable consumer and operator benefits:

Vents that help to preserve food freshness, prevent steam buildup, and continue to function when the containers are stacked.

An added anti-fog ingredient that minimizes moisture build-up and helps to maintain a clear view of container contents. This feature also helps to reduce operational errors when filling orders.

Airtight Leak Guard closures that prevent spills and leakage during transport.
An EZ Close design that help operators save time when packing food items or ready-made meals.

If operators can save just one second every time they close a container, the labor dollars saved can add up quickly. said Clementi.

The containers are made from Advanta, the companys proprietary polypropylene blend made with up to 13% less plastic than standard polypropylene a meaningful source reduction.

The Advanta blend provides improved rigidity and better temperature maintenance than standard polypropylene. The blend makes the OctaView Supreme bases more durable, cut and crush resistant than standard polypropylene containers. It also enhances the lines superior stacking capabilities which allow operators to use fewer carry-out bags.

Every foodservice and retail operator works hard to build a good reputation. The OctaView Supremes features protect that reputation and support consumer preferences, concludes Clementi.

InnoWares Microwavable OctaView Supreme line is available in three sizes with depth configuration options. A three-compartment option is also available to help operators manage portion control and food costs without compromising quality.

InnoWares OctaView Supreme line is complimented by its trendy square shaped, two-piece Expressions Advanta line. The Expressions Advanta line bases are configured to also fit InnoWares Expressions PETE lids–giving operators a glossy, crystal clear lid option for superior merchandising.
