Publix wants to open a distribution center in McCalla that could bring 200 jobs to Jefferson County.
The Jefferson County Commission will hold a public hearing on a proposed incentive package at its Sept. 10 meeting to bring the Lakeland, Florida-based supermarket chain to the Jefferson Metropolitan Park in McCalla.
"We're excited about Publix. They're such a great corporate citizen," Commissioner David Carrington said.
