Taylor, PA — Schiff’s Food Service, Inc. is proud to announce their acquisition of the foodservice distribution division of K. Heeps Inc.
Schiff’s Food Service (SFS) and K. Heeps of Allentown, PA are both independent, family-owned companies that share the same values of high-quality products and customer service.
This acquisition will allow K. Heeps customers to still access the exclusive K. Heeps brand of ready to cook, in-house made products, while gaining from SFS the benefits of a broadline, full-service distributor. SFS will provide its USDA inspected in-house meat cutting facility, fresh poultry, seafood, produce, dairy, national brand frozen and non-perishable food items, chemicals, supplies and more. SFS owners, Mike and Ryan Yeager, said K. Heeps customers can expect a smooth transition and consistency during this conversion as they will retain members of K. Heeps sales and customer service teams.
The goal of SFS is to not only help its customers compete with the giants, but also help grow their business and profitability. SFS will be increasing its fleet size by twenty percent to meet the demands of its expanded customer base. The distributor will also increase staffing in their operations department, including drivers, order selectors and additional meat room staff.

K. Heeps butcher and foodservice company has served Lehigh Valley restaurants and institutions since 1948. While SFS will acquire their foodservice business, K. Heeps will close their retail business effective February 26, 2021. K. Heeps will continue to operate their pureed food business, which services the health care industry.
