South Florida Logistics Center Opens For Business

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Flagler Global Logistics has officially opened the doors to its highly anticipated South Florida Logistics Center. Located adjacent to the Miami International Airport, the 200-acre intermodal logistics complex offers world-class cargo handling including unprecedented multimodal transportation access, Foreign Trade Zone advantages and refrigerated cargo options. Previously known as South Florida Logistics Services, Flagler Global Logistics provides a full suite of integrated supply chain management services and real estate solutions.

The Logistic Center’s first building, a 170,000-square-foot facility, is now fully operational including 30,000 square feet of refrigerated space to complement warehouse and office space. The Center’s expansion plans call for the development of up to two million square feet of industrial space at the site.

“We’re excited our South Florida Logistics Center is officially open for business,” said Chris Scott, President and CEO of Flagler Global Logistics. “We’ve created a unique, world-class logistics hub with unparalleled worldwide access and a comprehensive, scalable real estate and logistics solution that is helping importers and exporters move their goods in and out of South Florida more efficiently.”

An additional feature of the Center is a new method of preserving the "cold-chain" for produce and other perishable items, decreasing the amount of time the products are in transport and extending the shelf life. “Our Logistic Center’s enhanced transportation infrastructure provides nationwide rail access and exclusive connectivity to PortMiami and Port Everglades. Coupled with our innovative cold chain treatment technology and facility, we are well positioned to drive a major shift in the supply chain to redirect the flow of goods—particularly perishables—from the southeast to the northeast.”

Both of Flagler Global Logistics’ South Florida developments, South Florida Logistics Center and Flagler Station business park, are among a handful of designated “magnet” sites with the newly formed Miami-Dade County Foreign Trade Zone No. 281. “The Foreign Trade Zone designation at our facilities allows us to offer importers and exporters the opportunity to further enhance their supply chain and defer, reduce or even eliminate customs duties,” added Scott.

With nearly two million square feet of Class-A warehouse and distribution space at full build out, the South Florida Logistics Center offers flexible space options with existing space from 12,000 to 275,000 square feet and build-to-suit space. Conveniently located adjacent to the Miami International Airport with exclusive rail connectivity to PortMiami, Port Everglades and Florida East Coast Railway’s intermodal yard, South Florida Logistics Center significantly reduces transit times and transportation costs for importers and exporters looking to reach end-users throughout Florida, the Southeast, Latin America and the Caribbean. The Center also offers convenient access to all major highways, including I-95, I-75, Florida Turnpike, US 41 and US 27.
