BOISE, Idaho — WinCo Foods LLC announced that it will open two new stores on Thursday, November 6th. The Lewiston, Idaho store is located at 2001 17th Street, is 59,400 square feet in size and will initially employ about 100 individuals, 90 of whom have been hired locally. The North Richland Hills store is located at 5152 Rufe Snow Dr., is 82,600 square feet in size and will initially employ approximately 160 individuals, 150 of whom have been hired locally. The stores each include WinCo's newer décor package that creates a no nonsense, efficient, clean feel and which highlights the product and coordinates nicely with the hundreds of quality private label products the company continues to introduce.
WinCo Foods is an employee owned discount grocery chain known primarily for being the "Supermarket Low Price Leader" in each market it serves. Lewiston Store Manager, Ken Saari, transfers to the store from the Roy, Utah store. Ken has over 13 years of experience with WinCo Foods and is excited to relocate to the Lewiston area. North Richland Hills Store Manager, Wendy Holland, transfers to the store from one of WinCo's Gilbert, Arizona stores and has over 20 years of experience with the company. Both managers and their management teams say that the excitement in the community is building and that they and their other employee owners are also excited about opening the new stores and assisting new customers with a great combination of customer service and low pricing. The stores feature a "Wall of Values" at the entry, which displays a wide variety of high volume products with particularly good pricing. The main sales floor of each store encompasses large fresh produce, bulk foods, meat, deli, seafood, and bakery service departments. The unique bulk foods department allows customers to buy only the amounts they want and displays over 700 items, including many natural food products, some organics, snacks, candies, cereals, flours, pastas, spices and more.
