Crab Fest Has Begun At Select Wegmans Stores
September 18, 2012 | 1 min to read
Diners craving fresh Maryland crabs need only to visit their local Wegmans for Crab Fest.
Working with Maryland’s Harris Crab House, three area Wegmans stores (Malvern, King of Prussia, Collegeville) will offer fresh live and steamed blue crabs outside on the patio. Guests can pre-order crabs to take home or stay and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
"We’ve always been committed to sourcing the finest fresh, local food for our guests, and Harris' blue crabs are taken from the water, put into their truck and literally driven right to our door, where we steam them and pour them out on picnic tables for Crab Fest," says Kathy Haines, director of Wegmans in-store restaurants and Market-Cafes. "We’re bringing the best of the Chesapeake Bay inland and offering the tastiest, freshest crabs available."
Crab Fest will be held at Wegmans in Collegeville on Sunday and Oct. 27; at the King of Prussia store on Sept. 16; and the Malvern location on Oct. 7. Beginning at noon and continuing until 5 p.m., Harris Crab House will park their truck in front of the store and serve steamed crabs to guests on the patio.
