Gulf Oil Spill Costing California Seafood Diners

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — BP's large oil spill that has been filling the Gulf of Mexico is affecting seafood prices at local businesses.

Young's Market has been a mainstay in Bakersfield. For 50 years, it has sold fresh produce and fresh seafood.

"Items have gone up, some a few cents, some a few dollars," said Junior Gomez, seafood manager at Young's.

Gomez said they started to see higher prices several weeks ago. Most of the hikes were for fresh fish.
