ENSENADA BC, MX – In a second round of team growth this year, Pacifico Aquaculture announces the addition of Guy Lott in the newly created Vice President of Sales role.
Lott joins Pacifico on the heels of a meaningful team expansion in 2018 and 2019 with the addition of Denver-based Senior Sales Manager Chris Cumming, along with a new logistics manager, two sales managers, a culinary specialist and brand ambassador, and a customer service manager.
“The breadth of Guy’s industry network supports our vision for Pacifico True Striped Bass to be available more widely throughout the US and internationally. His leadership and partnership alongside our existing team will help Omar and me guide Pacifico into its future,” says Co-CEO Daniel Farag.
As the VP of Sales, Lott will report directly to Farag and Co-CEO Omar Alfi while overseeing the existing experienced sales team. Lott’s extensive industry relationships will benefit the sales team as they continue to welcome new customers and partners across the US, Mexico, and beyond.
“Pacifico is at the forefront of the aquaculture movement,” says Lott. “It’s exciting for me to be on the front lines of a pioneering brand developing an emerging species. I’m drawn to the sustainability model and premium quality of the fish. My goal is to uphold the quality reputation of Pacifico True Striped Bass while supporting its growth and availability.”
“As we’ve made strides with our internal team development, we’re also making huge leaps in production to support our distribution goals,” says Alfi. “We now have nearly 4,000 tons of fish on the farm and continue to responsibly expand our operations with a new concession in the area. The addition of Guy to our growing sales team further reinforces our goal of becoming a world class aquaculture company rooted in responsible practices.”
The company has significantly scaled its operations following an investment from Los Angeles-based private equity firm Butterfly at the end of 2017.
“Since investing in Pacifico we’ve proudly supported the company as it’s forged a new path in the industry, and we’ve been overwhelmed by the customer reception and excitement around the product,” says Butterfly Equity Co-Founder and Co-CEO Dustin Beck. “With the continued growth of the sales team, the company is poised to continue its rapid trajectory towards nationwide adoption of its True Ocean Raised Striped Bass.”
Most recently, Lott held the position of Vice President of Sales for North America with Regal Springs Tilapia, the world’s largest vertically integrated tilapia company. In his role, he helped usher in a new era for Regal Springs Tilapia, successfully managing the ownership change from a family-run business to a multinational company. Previous to Regal Springs, Lott held a leadership position with Harvest Select and worked as a chef and restaurateur. In addition to his professional roles, Lott currently sits on the board of the National Fisheries Institute, is a fellow in the American Academy of Chefs, and a member of the Alabama Seafood Marketing Commission. As a member of the Pacifico team, Lott will continue with a lifelong passion to support and grow vertically integrated aquaculture operations.
