Alpenrose Dairy Consolidating Operations with Larsen’s Creamery; Equipment Assets on Offer from Harry Davis & Company

One year ago, Alpenrose announced the acquisition of Larsen’s Creamery, which will serve as the future production site for the Alpenrose dairy business, as well as allow the iconic century-old company to expand into the butter category. The move will take place in January of 2024 and includes installation of new equipment for enhanced efficiency as production of its staples including milk, butter, and sour cream will be manufactured under one roof.

Smith Brothers will only take over the dairy operations. More than 50 acres of land on Shattuck Road will remain with the current ownership, a press release from Smith Brothers said. That part of the property where there are dairy operations will be leased by Smith Brothers.

Alpenrose Lawsuit Dropped, Sale Off

“We filed a lawsuit to prevent a sale that would have ended Alpenrose Dairy as we and the community know and love,” said a statement issued lawyer Joe Mabe of Slinde Nelson on behalf of the siblings who filed the suit, Carl Cadonau, Cary Cadonau, and Tracey McKinnon.
