Clearwater Seafoods Achieves Fish Crew Certification for Canadian Vessel Fleet

Clearwater Seafoods is pleased to announce that seven vessels within its Canadian fleet have been certified using the Fish Standard for Crew, an independent, third-party certification program for labor practices on fishing vessels. The certification was awarded after extensive policy and procedure review was conducted, as well as on-site vessel inspections, and face-to-face interviews with crew members by the independent auditors.

33 Fishing Industry Association Papua New Guinea Tuna Purse Seine Vessels Achieve FISH Standard for Crew Certification

FISH Standard for Crew Inc. is pleased to announce that 33 Fishing Industry Association Papua New Guinea (FIA PNG) tuna purse seiners have been awarded FISH certification.  The certification, issued by SGS, follows extensive policy and procedure review, on-site vessel inspections, and face-to-face interviews of staff, captains, and crew members.  The Philippine and Papua New Guinea flagged vessels are owned by FIA PNG member companies.

Alaska Pollock Fleets of At-Sea Processors Association Achieve FISH Standard for Crew Certification

FISH Standard for Crew Inc. is pleased to announce that fourteen catcher-processor vessels of the At-Sea Processors Association (APA) have been awarded FISH certification. The fleet is comprised of American flagged vessels operating in U.S. waters in the Alaska pollock and Pacific whiting fisheries. 

Nueva Pescanova Group Fleet in Namibia Achieves First FISH Standard for Crew Certification

FISH Standard for Crew Inc. is pleased to announce that NovaNam (Pty) Ltd, a Namibian-based subsidiary of the Nueva Pescanova Group, is the first fleet to achieve FISH certification. NovaNam’s ten vessel Namibian-flagged fleet that harvests hake operates out of Lüderitz and Walvis Bay and includes approximately 300 fishers working on the vessels. Employing auditors trained in the FISH Standard, Bureau Veritas awarded the certification after extensive policy and procedure review along with on-site vessel inspections and in-person crew interviews.
