Rising Grocery Prices Will Hit Labor Day Barbeques

A trip to the grocery store is taking a bigger bite out of the consumer’s wallet this summer.  But just how big?  Inflation hit a 40-year high at 9.1% in June of this year.  While the rate of increase dipped slightly in July, consumers have become increasingly concerned about the cost of living in general and the cost of food in particular.

This year’s Labor Day will be an exciting one as friends and family can more safely come together to celebrate their community while enjoying baked goods paired with delicious grilled creations. Meanwhile, we encourage everyone to reflect on the holiday’s focus: the contributions and achievements of the American workforce, and specifically, the nearly 800,000 workers of the baking industry.
