Mississippi Department of Marine Resources and MDAC to Manage $1.6M Grant from USDA for Seafood Processors, Facilities and Vessels

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR) and the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce (MDAC) will manage a $1,606,446 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to support seafood processors, processing facilities and processing vessels through the Seafood Processors Pandemic Response and Safety Block Grant Program.

Mississippi Department of Marine Resources hosting public meeting for Oyster Management and Recovery Strategic Plan

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is hosting a public meeting to discuss the document, “Oyster Management and Recovery Strategic Plan.” The meeting will be held Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, from 5:30 until 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Bolton Building, located at 1141 Bayview Ave. in Biloxi.

Area 5 Approved Growing Waters Closed for Oyster Harvest Effective Immediately -MDMR

Officials with the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources announced today that Approved Area 5 “C” growing waters are closed to the harvest of oysters effective immediately Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021, due to excessive localized rainfall.
