NFI Red Crab Council Continues Fishery Improvement Work in China

The NFI Red Crab Council and its sustainability partners, Ocean Outcomes (O2), are proud to announce they’re entering year 5 of the comprehensive Red Crab Fisheries Improvement Project (FIP) in China. Given the continued progress of the FIP and its ongoing efforts to improve the sustainability of 40,000 mt of crab caught by trawls and pots in the Minnan-Taiwan Bank, the FIP was recently awarded an ‘A’ rating on FisheryProgress.org for producing tangible outcomes on-the-water. 

NFI Red Crab Council Renews Commitment to Improving Chinese Crab Fishery

The National Fisheries Institute’s Red Crab Council and its partners – Ocean Outcomes (O2) and Tao Ran on the ground in China – have renewed their annual contract to keep the comprehensive Red Crab Fisheries Improvement Project (FIP) on track.

Almost a year after a Memorandum of Understanding launched the NFI Red Crab Council’s first Fisheries Improvement Project (FIP) in China, the project continues to gain momentum and make progress towards FIP workplan objectives. This comprehensive FIP is focused on the fishery in Fujian Province, the leading fishing region for red crab.
