Albertsons Companies, in cooperation with its supplier Old Europe Cheese, Inc. has voluntarily recalled 34 ReadyMeals and in-store prepared items made with certain Brie and Camembert cheeses due to possible contamination of Listeria monocytogenes.

The FDA, along with CDC and state and local partners, is investigating a multistate outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes infections linked to Brie and Camembert soft cheese products manufactured by Old Europe Cheese, Inc. of Benton Harbor, MI, and sold at various retailers under multiple labels and brands, including Reny Picot.

Old Europe Cheese Wins the Annual Michigan Cheese Competition

Old Europe Cheese won the annual Michigan Cheese Competition for their Triple Creme Brie entry. Sponsored by the United Dairy Industry of Michigan and Michigan State University Dairy Club, the winning entry was selected from seven entries. The entries were judged on aroma, flavor, body and texture.
