PCC Community Markets (PCC), the largest community-owned food market in the U.S. and one of Seattle’s original grocers today announced it awarded $25,000 in Organic Producer Grants to six small-midsized area farms across Washington State. PCC’s 2022 Organic Producer Grants recipients are Clover Mountain Dairy (Chewelah), Alluvial Farms (Everson), Silva Family Farm (Oak Harbor), Royal Produce Farm (Royal City), Long Hearing Farm (Rockport), and Rent’s Due Ranch (Stanwood).

PCC Community Markets (PCC), the largest community-owned food market in the U.S. and one of Seattle’s original grocers, issued its annual Co-op Purposes Report provided in service to the co-op’s membership which grew by 13% in 2021 to more than 102,000 members by year’s end. PCC is a member-owned and operated co-op with 16 stores serving the Puget Sound area with a mission to ensure good food nourishes the communities it serves while cultivating vibrant, local, organic food systems.

Krish has been a member of PCC’s leadership team as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for nearly four years, during which time he has furthered the co-op’s work aligned with its vision, mission and values, navigated the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and supported the co-op’s growth with four new locations that provide jobs in the community and a platform for the small to midsize local producers the co-op supports.

International Living Future Institute Recognizes Two Additional PCC Community Markets Locations as Meeting World’s Most Rigorous Green Building Standards

PCC Community Markets (PCC), one of Seattle’s original grocers and the largest community-owned food market in the U.S., today announced that its West Seattle and Bellevue co-op locations met the world’s most rigorous green building standards, established by the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), to become Living Building Challenge (LBC) Petal-Certified. These locations join Ballard PCC, the world’s first grocery store to receive this recognition, in meeting the stringent requirements for the Materials, Place and Beauty Petals in pursuit of ILFI’s LBC Petal Certification.
