New York State Agriculture Commissioner Announces Initiatives to Promote New York Dairy Industry During Dairy Month

This year, the State’s Dairy Month activities have an educational focus, including the re-launch of the Department’s Dairy Education Days series in elementary school classrooms across the state; a collaboration with New York Ag in the Classroom to help kids learn fun facts about dairy in their region; a focus on re-connecting communities with dairy farmers and processors through our Taste NY Markets; and the release of a Dairy Resources Guide that catalogs the resources the State offers to New York’s dairy industry.  

New York’s Apple Industry Approves Continuation of Apple Research and Development Program

The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets (AGM) recently announced that the State’s apple industry has voted in support of continuing the Apple Research and Development program (ARDP).

GrowNYC, State, City and Elected Officials Break Ground on the New York State Regional Food Hub in the Bronx

The Hub, a 60,000-square-foot cold-storage facility on a 135,000-square-foot lot in the Hunts Point neighborhood of the Bronx, will dramatically expand GrowNYC’s wholesale distribution infrastructure that makes high-quality, local foods accessible to underserved New Yorkers through wholesale buyers, including institutions and restaurants, and through innovative partnerships with nonprofit organizations.
