United Fresh and Produce Groups Issue Joint Statement on Supply Chain Disruptions

The House Agriculture Committee held a hearing on the challenges facing the entire agricultural supply chain. As part of the hearing, a joint statement representing North American fresh produce organizations urging immediate government action to address significant ongoing supply chain disruptions with impacts to food systems, economies, and ultimately individuals and families worldwide, was submitted for the record.

United Fresh Applauds Introduction of Bill to Launch Second White House Conference on Food, Nutrition, and Hunger

Senators Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Mike Braun (R-IN) and Representatives Jim McGovern (D-MA) and Jackie Walorski (R-IN) introduced the White House Conference on Food, Nutrition, Hunger and Health Act to start the process of convening a second White House conference to address the nation’s nutrition crisis.

PMA and United Fresh to Announce New Association Live

Chief executives representing the new association being formed by the Produce Marketing Association and United Fresh Produce Association, Cathy Burns and Tom Stenzel, will share an important update about the new organization on October 28, 2021. The announcement, which will be broadcast live, will include members of the new group’s Executive Committee. Industry media members are welcome for a live press conference following the update. 

United Fresh Releases FreshFacts on Retail Q2 2021 Report

United Fresh Produce Association’s Q2 2021 issue of FreshFacts® on Retail is now available. Sponsored by Mucci Farms, this issue reports that vegetable declines mainly drove produce trends in Q2, despite growing fruit dollars. However, volume sales declined across the board.
