Perdue Premium Meat Company, Inc., doing business as Alexander & Hornung, a Saint Clair Shores, Mich., establishment, is recalling approximately 3,204 pounds of fully cooked beef wiener products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.

Sahlen Packing Co., the family-owned and operated food manufacturer founded in Buffalo, New York, in 1869, announced that its newest product, Sahlen’s Skinless Smokehouse Cocktail Wieners, is now available at all Tops Friendly Markets and Wegmans locations across Western New York. This comes after two months of slowly rolling the product out to two of the regions biggest shopping markets.

FSIS Issues Public Health Alert for Ready-to-Eat Chili Cheese Wieners Due to Possible Listeria Contamination

 The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert because Family Fare, a Chippewa Falls, Wisc. establishment, produced ready-to-eat chili cheese wieners that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. A recall was not requested because it is believed that the products are no longer in commerce.
