Kontos Foods Announces New Gluten-Free Wrap

Paterson, N.J.  – Kontos Foods, Inc., a U.S.- based manufacturer and distributor of traditional artisan breads and Mediterranean specialty foods, today announced the launch of a new 12-inch Gluten-Free Pre-Grilled Wrap, primarily targeted to foodservice customers. The new product, recently accepted for sale by Restaurant Depot, is certified wheat-free and gluten-free.
 
“The request for gluten-free wraps initially came from one of our larger foodservice distributors in Toronto, Canada. With many consumers severely sensitive to gluten, we decided that it was an important product to add to our line of delicious wraps for restaurants and foodservice establishments across North America,” said Steve Kontos, Vice President of Kontos Foods. “Since initially showing the new 12-inch wrap to our U.S. customers, we were delighted when Restaurant Depot chose to carry it.”
 
The Kontos Gluten-Free Pre-Grilled Wraps have been specifically developed to fit the unique needs of individuals who are looking for wheat and gluten-free options, but still want to enjoy delicious wrap sandwiches.
 
“The product contains grill marks on one side, to create an interesting café-style meal. Or, food purveyors can flip the wrap and hide the grill marks if desired,” said Warren Stoll, Kontos Marketing Director. “At 12 inches across, they are large enough to make a hearty sandwich wrap that can be easily sliced in two pieces.”
 
The wraps, which contain tapioca starch, water, rice flour, soybean flour and other wholesome ingredients, contain no trans-fat and are 100% vegetarian.
