MARKHAM, ON – Sofina Foods Inc. (Sofina) is pleased to announce its intent for a recently acquired property and building in Mitchell, Ontario.
Sofina intends to commence the necessary work to transition the previous pork processing facility into a turkey processing operation. The Mitchell, Ontario facility strengthens Sofina's manufacturing capabilities and establishes Sofina as a significant poultry processor in the Ontario marketplace. While there is no official start date for the facility, the Company anticipates commissioning the facility in late 2015.

"The Mitchell facility provides Sofina Foods with the ability to provide fresh turkey to our further processing operations in London and Brampton, confirms our commitment to the Ontario turkey industry, and Ontario turkey farmers. This is the largest single investment in the Canadian turkey industry in over 25 years."
