Annie's Naturally Bakery Expanding Operations Into Asheville, NC

SHEVILLE — A Southern girl originally from Bristol, Va., with a taste for vegetarian cooking meets a nice Italian guy, originally from New Jersey and a family with four generations of bakers.

Joe and Annie Ritota both admit it was love at first sight when Joe delivered his family bakery’s bread to Annie’s vegetarian restaurant in Greenville, S.C., almost 20 years ago.
Their first date came on New Year’s Eve, when she met his whole Italian clan.

“It was intense and intimidating,” Annie remembers.
