SMITHSBURG — Hadley Farms Bakery has decided to keep its wholesale baked-goods manufacturing operations in Smithsburg instead of moving to Franklin County, Pa.
The Smithsburg Town Council announced last week that the baked-goods company would stay at its current location at 47 S. Main St.
"We're ecstatic about them staying," Smithsburg Mayor Jack Kesselring said in an interview Wednesday. "This is the largest employer we have. … A percentage of those employees live in the town of Smithsburg."
