Canton, OH's Norcia's Bakery Continues 95-Year Tradition Of Excellence In Baking

The bread recipes that have made Norcia's Bakery a Stark County icon were brought from Italy to America by the John Norcia family, the bakery founder. Don and Nancy Horne took over the establishment 32 years ago and have continued to use those recipes and the tradition of excellence in baking.

There has been lots of growth for this business in the last 32 years. When ownership changed, the business had seven wholesale accounts. Now there are three Norcia Bakery trucks making deliveries to grocery stores, restaurants and caterers all day, every day.

The breads are baked during the night with no preservatives in a 1,500 pound mixer and delivered fresh. Bread items are still hand cut, formed and wrapped.

Business changes made over the years include the addition of sweets and a lunch menu, hence, the bakery slogan: "More than just bread."
