Daffy Farms Will Demo Caramel At IDDBA Bakery Expo

Denver, CO – Daffy Farms will be at the Dairy-Deli-Bake Seminar and Expo at the Denver Convention Center beginning June 1. Daffy Farms will be bringing a total package for delis and bakeries that want to create their own caramel apples and other caramel desserts.

“We started 60 years ago with caramel apples, and it’s grown from there,” said Phillip Kellogg, president of Daffy Farms. “Today, we carry a total line of caramel products, everything from the caramel and sticks to training and advice to packaging and merchandising ideas.”

The International Dairy Deli Bakery Association (IDDBA) holds the Expo, the largest of its kind with 9,000 attendees. Daffy Farms will be at Booth #4515 sampling and displaying its selection of caramel products available to bakeries, grocers’ bakery and deli departments, and the foodservice trade.

Daffy Farms also will display its new All Natural Baker’s Caramel and All Natural Dipping Caramel at Booth #4515. These new recipes are produced with non-GMO corn syrup, fresh cream, pure cane sugar, and butter, and include no artificial flavors or colors. They are available in a range of sizes and can be packed in microwaveable tubs.

Caramel is an ingredient and topping used in a growing array of pastries, baked goods, confections, snacks, desserts, drinks, and frozen treats, and it is the perfect accompaniment to the apple. The latest culinary trend, salted caramel, not only increases demand, but also introduces entirely new lines of sweet and salty products to tempt bakery and deli shoppers.

“Shoppers are also looking for snacks and treats that are perceived as better for you and feature fresh fruit, dairy foods, or nuts,” Kellogg pointed out. “Caramel apples feature all three, and are also enjoyed by all ages.”
