Delta Woman's Pie Takes The Prize With Totally Biscoff Pie

There’s something sweet coming out of the oven in Delta.

That’s where Grace Thatcher created the dreamy Totally Biscoff Pie that was awarded first place last month in the amateur category at the 22nd American Pie Council National Pie Championships in Orlando. The pie was among 238 entries for the amateur division and garnered Best in Show. She won $5,000, which she will donate to charity. The pie’s crust had a twist: Ms. Thatcher constructed it out of crunchy Biscoff cookies.

Ms. Thatcher has been competing in the event since 1997. The master baker previously won awards in the cream cheese category for her Drop Dead Gorgeous Strawberry Pie in 2012 and placed second for her Extravagant Chocolate Raspberry Mousse Pie in 2013.
