Oakland, California – Just Desserts, a pioneer in hand-crafted desserts and sweet snacks, today announced the appointment of two Vice Presidents who have joined. Michael Mendes’ leadership team and bring a combined forty years-experience to Just Desserts. Leighton Mue, Controller and VP of Finance will oversee accounts payable and receivables for Just Desserts and is focused on the company’s financial growth. John Wohlgemuth, VP of Operations, is responsible for the overall manufacturing efficiency of Just Desserts, from supply chain management to supplier negotiations.

John brings 25 years-experience in strategic sourcing and operations in the bakery sector to Just Desserts. He is responsible for the overall manufacturing efficiency for the Company from supply chain management to negotiating with suppliers, ensuring Just Desserts runs efficiently across the enterprise. With his strong negotiation skills and excellent vendor rapport, Wohlgemuth is known for driving the best quality and the most competitive price. Wohlgemuth built his career with Otis Spunkmeyer, Rolling Pin Manufacturing and Safeway, Inc. before joining Just Desserts.

Leighton is a broadly skilled finance leader and critical thinker focused on the Company’s financial growth. He brings 14 years of corporate financial planning and analysis experience with Sun Microsystems, SunLink and 365 Main. Leighton began his career in public accounting as a staff accountant with Ernst & Young, and is a California Certified Public Accountant.
His versatile financial background and technical expertise is critical to Just Desserts’ business strategy as the Company moves into new markets and expands their product offerings over the next year.
