Northeast Foods To Open New Bakery In Clayton, NC

A national contract baker for the commercial and fast-food industries has a
recipe for expansion that will cook up 84 new jobs in Johnston County, NC according
to the office of Gov. Beverly Perdue.

Maryland-based Northeast Foods Inc. plans to spend $25.4 million to open a new
bakery in Clayton. The company has won $350,000 in One North Carolina Fund
incentives for the expansion.

The overall average annual wage of the new positions will be $41,815, the
governor’s office said in a written statement. By comparison, the Johnston
County annual average wage is $31,408.
