Speaker To Reveal 'Special Something' Of Business Luminaries At ABA Convention

WASHINGTON, DC – The Afternoon Business Session at the American Bakers Association (ABA) 2015 Convention will take the discussion of the current economic environment to the next level. Emmy Award-winning journalist and anchor of FOX Business’ Countdown to the Closing Bell and After the Bell Liz Claman will offer her thoughts on the current economic environment at a macro level, while incorporating stories of her experiences with our country’s business leaders.

During the March 30 Business Session, “The New Economy: How and When Will America Soar Again,” Ms. Claman will provide insight into the “special something” that famed CEOs and business luminaries possess – and how attendees can adopt some of their ideas to help them reach their own pinnacle. Ms. Claman has landed some of the toughest “gets” in business journalism: she nabbed the very first hour-long, live network interview with one of the world’s richest men – billionaire Warren Buffett – and she has picked the brains of some of the most successful people on the planet, from Google’s Eric Schmidt to Microsoft’s Bill Gates. She has been described by Vanity Fair as “one of television’s top business reporters and anchors.”

“ABA is pleased to have such an informed and well-respected anchor in the financial sector address our Convention attendees,” said Robb MacKie, ABA President and CEO. “This will be an opportunity to gain a unique perspective on the state of our economic environment and the lessons learned from some of our country’s greatest businessmen.”

Ms. Claman joined FOX Business Network (FBN) as an anchor in October 2007. Her debut included an exclusive interview with Berkshire Hathaway CEO and legendary investor Warren Buffett. Before joining FBN, Ms. Claman served as an anchor at CNBC for nine years, most recently anchoring Morning Call and Cover to Cover. During her time at CNBC, she interviewed major financial newsmakers, including Buffett, Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, and former Treasury Secretaries John Snow and Paul O’Neill. In addition, Ms. Claman is the author of The Best Investment Advice I Ever Received: Priceless Wisdom from Warren Buffett, Jim Cramer, Suze Orman, Steve Forbes, and Dozens of Other Top Financial Experts (Warner Books 2006). Before CNBC, Claman served as an anchor and reporter for Boston's WHDH-TV (NBC). She was also a contributing correspondent for NBC's syndicated daytime program RealLife. Prior to that, she anchored a two-hour daily talk show, The Morning Exchange, for WEWS-TV (ABC) in Cleveland. Ms. Claman received an Emmy for her work on The Morning Exchange.

The 2015 ABA Convention is taking place March 29 – April 1, at the Ritz Grande Lakes Orlando. As the premier annual gathering of the baking industry, top industry leaders will attend to hear from business and political speakers, learn about the latest trends, connect with industry colleagues, share ideas, and develop solutions on baking issues.
