Record-high cattle prices could have long-lasting affects on the industry and consumers, experts say. Big paychecks from packers haven't meant a lot of black ink for producers. And people who love a good T-bone steak or cheeseburger are digging deeper to pay for them, government data show. Producers and food retailers say change is the way to buck both trends.

WI Firm Recalls Cooked Pork Hocks For Misbranding & Undeclared Allergen

Han Yang Inc., a Milwaukee, Wisc., establishment, is recalling approximately 25,600 pounds of cooked pork hocks because of misbranding and an undeclared allergen, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products contain wheat, a known allergen, which is not noted on the label.

NMA & NAMP Make New Association Official

The National Meat Association (NMA) and the North American Meat Processors Association (NAMP) made their consolidation into a new association official, the two associations announced in a joint statement.
