Oakhurst Dairy Raises Over $20,000 For Salvation Army

Portland Maine – Oakhurst Dairy's longstanding annual campaign to support the Salvation Army reached a milestone this holiday season and made its largest annual donation to date through its annual Egg Nog campaign. This season's contribution of $20,600 pushed the total amount raised since 2000 to over $200,000. The family-owned Maine dairy donated five cents for every container of Oakhurst Egg Nog and Light Egg Nog it sold throughout the recent holiday season.

Oakhurst Dairy has long been an active supporter of the Salvation Army of Northern New England. This season's campaign marks the eleventh year Oakhurst has made a significant donation based on the sale of its Egg Nog products.

“For us, there is a personal connection to the Salvation Army, and every year we look forward to making our Egg Nog campaign a success,” said Oakhurst Dairy President and COO Bill Bennett. “Our Mom started this relationship 40 years ago, and we look forward to supporting their work for years to come.”

Major David Kelly, Divisional Commander of the Salvation Army in Northern New England, praised the notable difference Oakhurst's campaign is making for his organization. “We’re able to touch the lives of more people throughout the region because of the generous support of contributors like Oakhurst Dairy. For over a decade now, they have stepped up to the plate and helped so many New England families.”
