The Wisconsin Original Cheese Festival Is Set To Grow

The Wisconsin Original Cheese Festival will grow for its return in November to
accommodate more cheese fans after the inaugural festival sold out last year.

Organizer Jeanne Carpenter has added a third day to the Nov. 5-7 festival and
more events with the hopes of bringing more people to it without making the
seminars, bus tours, dinners or receptions larger.

The third day will be for a Sunday market at Monona Terrace that will feature
area cheesemakers, cheese-related artists and authors, and local foods.

“The thing we heard last year was that people really liked the cheeses, but then
couldn’t buy them,” Carpenter said. “That was my No. 1 feedback. We want to buy
the cheese.'”
