“We’re excited to be here,” said Market of Choice President Rick Wright. “We’ve received many positive comments, employment inquires and questions about construction progress over the last couple months. Mostly, people just want to know when we’re opening, which makes us feel very welcomed.”
Owned and operated by the Wright family for 32 years, the business has grown from a single store to eight Markets from Portland to Ashland, operating with professional chefs, bakers, and stewards of wine, beer, cheese and coffee.
While growing their business, the Wrights have provided mostly full-time jobs for thousands of people who receive higher-than-average industry wages and benefits. Today, they employ 800 and help support many local farmers and producers by purchasing items grown and made in Oregon. The opening of their newest store in Corvallis will create more than 100 new jobs and 22 transfer positions for existing employees.
